I'm New
Everyone is welcome, new neighbors, first-time visitors, soldiers from Ft. Bragg, doubters, seekers, and eager disciples in search of a church home. We know it is awkward to walk into a new church by yourself or as a family, so we want to make things as easy as possible for you. Here's an introduction to worship at Flat Branch so you can know what to expect.
First of all, we literally have acres of parking! You can park in the paved area in front of our Fellowship Hall, or any of the grassy areas on either side of Darroch Rd. For Sunday School, most members and guests enter through our Fellowship Hall, and for worship guests come to the main sanctuary doors.
Nursery is available for infants and very small toddlers upstairs over the Fellowship Hall during worship. Nursery volunteers are in place by 10:45 AM. Bathrooms are directly across the hall from the nursery. Children age 2 and up come to worship with their parents, where we have a Children's Sermon early in the service, and kids through elementary age are dismissed to Children's Church afterwards. They will have additonal Bible lessons appropriate for their age. Middle School and High School Youth stay with the adults in worship.
Flat Branch worships God in a traditional but laid-back style with some blended contemporary elements. Our members and friends cover all ages from babies up to over 90 years old., Most dress casually for worship, but a few like to dress more formally, especially in winter. We do our announcements and a warm Southern "Meet And Greet" time before we settle in for formal worship. You can sit tight where you are and our members will come and greet you.
The central feature of Presbyterian worship is the reading and proclamation of God's Word. We welcome all people and emphasize the unchanging nature of God's love in Jesus Christ. We also include creeds like the Apostles' Creed and the Lord's Prayer as shared elements of worship.
Here are some scenes from worship at Christmas, Easter, baptisms, and other times of the year, as well as a couple of shots of our lovely sanctuary. We always have room for you and those you hold dear!
Genesis 49:5 (NIV)
